Land, Environment and Rural Character

Woodstock's working farms, forests, and open space are essential to who we are, and protecting them requires active choices. We support open space preservation, the protection of working agriculture, careful stewardship of natural resources, and land use planning that respects our rural character while accommodating thoughtful, appropriately-scaled development. We believe climate resilience — protecting our roads, water systems, and homes from increasingly volatile weather — is a local issue as well as a state and federal one. The Woodstock our children inherit should be at least as healthy and beautiful as the one we received.
